Bred on both sides of his pedigree for a marathon turf route, Far Bridge appears poised for another strong effort while making his fourth start off of a prolonged layoff. He has been far from being disgraced in both starts vs. Grade 1 competition in New York, coming a tad short on both occasions. The son of English Channel loomed a dangerous presence in the stretch on June 8 at Saratoga, but then lacked the necessary late punch in deep stretch while salvaging the show. A drop in class and/or more distance enhances his chances for top turf trainer Christophe Clement. Far Bridge possesses enough tactical speed to neutralize a tough outside post with regular rider Jose Ortiz returning, who knows him and rides him extremely well.
